Transparency, open data, and public engagement

Open government initiatives publish machine-readable datasets, proactive disclosures, and consultation spaces so Canadians can reuse information and participate in policy design.

Open data

Census, environment, and spending datasets often carry licences that allow reuse with attribution. Check update frequency and methodology notes before drawing conclusions.

Consultations

Draft regulations and program changes may invite comment for a fixed window. Submissions become part of the public record unless confidentiality applies.
